Gum Surgeries

Gum surgery may be recommended for patients experiencing gum disease, a prevalent cause of tooth loss. This condition typically develops gradually, starting with early signs like swollen, red, and bleeding gums, as well as persistent bad breath. If left untreated, it can progress to more severe symptoms, including loose or shifted teeth and a dull ache in the gums. To address these issues, different types of gum surgeries are available to improve the symptoms. In addition to inadequate oral hygiene, chronic illnesses and certain medications can also contribute to gum problems.

• Periodontal Pocket Reduction Surgery: This procedure aims to reduce the depth of pockets around the teeth, allowing for better access to bacteria that cause gum disease.
• Soft Tissue Grafts: This surgical technique involves covering exposed roots, strengthening and protecting the gums from further damage, and restoring a natural appearance to the smile.
• Bone Grafts: In this procedure, donor bone or artificial material is grafted onto damaged areas in the jawbone, aiding in the rebuilding of tooth-supporting structures.
• Flap Surgery: Used to remove calculus (tartar) deposits deep under the gums, this surgery can also address tissue defects caused by periodontal diseases.
